A bitter-sweet comedy which paints a very accurate picture of the reality of post-communist Romanian society. A society going through a period of transition from Communism to Capitalism where the opportunity for quick money breaks through the human values of this middle class family.

Radu Jude manages to portray a classic example of the many situations where children have become victims of their parents greed and have had to sacrifice their own dreams and desires in return for financial gain.

Being from Romania myself, I believe this to be a real wake-up call for the Romanian society!
