Arrested Development
Having previously not been aware of Arrested Development, I started watching re-runs of the old series with some friends during the rainy days of the Memorial Day Weekend and found it to be hilarious, even though I wasn’t really understanding the relationships between the characters or all the inside jokes.
But thanks to Netflix, I am now able to watch it in my own time from the very beginning. So I started tonight …with Eps 1,2 and 3 of Series 1 and then quickly jumped to Ep 1 Series 4 – because I was so curious to see what the fuss was all about. And trust me…it was worth it!
Once again, despite most critics saying that the first few episodes of the fourth series are not good enough – I beg to differ.
Yes, the first episode is a little slower as it introduces the characters and their back stories – just in case you didn’t want to watch the first seies or needed a refresher – but it’s just as good – if not even better – and more relevant to people of my generation. I just love the character that George Michael has become, and I look forward to see how the gap between him and his dad will be playing out during the next episodes…
Arrested Development is fun, relaxing and even insightful at times….and Jason Bateman is as good as ever! A must watch.
